Yes, I'm starting a wedding blog despite the fact that I've slacked off on updating my food blog and I've all but shut down my regular personal blog.
Reasons for this include, but are not limited to: my minor obsession with blogs, and, of late, wedding blogs; the incredible ease with which my friends and family can be filled in on my latest wedding planning hijinks; wanting to chronicle what is sure to be a fun, slightly stressful, and exhilarating experience; and, lastly, hopefully serving as a resource to other women who are planning not-so-typical weddings. Sure, every wedding is different, but I bet you'll be hard pressed to find another wedding that features black invitations, a 1-hour Hindu ceremony, and a bride in a purple gown.

I'm a 29-year-old New Yorker planning a September 2009 wedding in NYC.
The words "soft" and "romantic" will not be allowed anywhere near our wedding, nor will pastel colors. Bold, bright, and modern, however, are more than welcome at what will hopefully be an awesome party that just happens to be in celebration of our wedding.
